Can I have a camp fire if there is a burn ban issued by DNR or Federal Forest Service?: No. Recreational fires are not permitted when the DNR or Federal Forest Service has issued a burning ban.

2. Can I have a camp fire if I live in the city?: Yes. Camp fires are allowed within the city as long as there is not a state mandated ban on burning.

4. How do I get permission for a fire pit?: Permits from the fire department are no longer required if you want to install a fire pit. A regular ringed fire pit must be a minimum of 25 feet away from any structures. An enclosed, listed, outdoor fireplace is permitted to be a minimum of 15 feet from a structure.
