Corridor and Streetscape Project
In April 2009, the City of Cadillac expects to break ground on the Mitchell St. 2009: Corridor and Streetscape Project. Many enhancements will be made to the corridor to revitalize its appearance and improve its condition. These changes include:
- Street reconstruction
- Resurfacing
- Underground utility replacement
- Landscaping

- Bump-outs
- Pedestrian crossings and signals
- Additional lighting
- Traffic signals

Funding
The project will be funded through local and State public works programs. Local funds totaling $1,435,070 will be drawn from the City's DDA Capital Projects Fund and the Sanitary Sewer Fund. The remaining monies estimated at $4,691,185 will come from State appropriations and grant funds. As a result, every $1 of local funds will leverage nearly $6 in total project funding!
