The Cadillac Resort District Board is very interested in hearing from local business leaders and others on suggestions for the future of the Resort District. Ideas should be forwarded to:

Some Initial Suggestions
These and other ideas will be examined in the future for development plans. Suggestions include (no priority):

  • Enhance the M-115 causeway with trees, lights, and benches
  • Add fishing piers along the east side of the causeway
  • Redevelop the M-115 / Sunnyside Dr. service station site for parking and as an entry gateway
  • Install hanging flower baskets along the M-115 and M-55 corridors
  • Clean up public and private sites
  • Install way finding signs on US-131, M-115, and M-55
  • Improve pedestrian crossings over M-115
  • Redevelop the mall at the M-115 / M-55 intersection
  • Reduce the level of traffic congestion along M-115
  • Consider implementing a design theme for buildings, signs, and streetscaping
  • Put into action events and festivals
  • Identify a staging area for events
  • Prepare a marketing plan to identify business gaps
  • Create a Cadillac Resort District website
  • Identify funding strategies for public improvements
  • Create a formal organization for planning and administering local projects and activities
  • Coordinate activities with Downtown Cadillac
  • Involve the City, townships, and MDOT in future enhancement programs
  • Have the Chamber and Visitor's Bureau become more involved in the planning, funding, and promotion of the Cadillac Resort District
  • Develop and implement a program for keeping Resort District property owners and businesses informed of ongoing programs and projects
