Janice Nelson started with the City of Cadillac in 1980, as a
cashier. She progressed to the position of Clerk—Treasurer
in 1986. Holding an extensive background in the education field,
Mrs. Nelson holds a Bachelor and Master Degree from Michigan State
University. She is a member of the Municipal Treasurer’s
Association, the International Institute of Municipal Clerks and
as a member of the Michigan chapters of both organizations. She
holds the distinguished designation of Certified Municipal Clerk
and Certified Municipal Finance Administrator.
