James E. Potvin Industrial Park - Cadillac, MI

Letter of Welcome

Dear Business Leader:

Thank you for considering Cadillac, Michigan as a potential location for your industrial, manufacturing, or high tech business operation.   Cadillac is home to a number of national and international manufacturing companies, such as Borg-Warner Cooling Systems, Four Winns, Hayes Lemmerz, AAR Manufacturing, and Avon Rubber Products, and for good reason.   Our manufacturing and industrial base is strong because we know how to accommodate the needs of these businesses.   In addition to our hard working, available work force, the City has ample space for industrial, manufacturing, and high tech operations in three, municipally-owned   business parks.   Most recently completed in 2002 was the James E. Potvin Industrial Park, with 66 acres of prime, industrially zoned lots fully serviced by water, sanitary sewer, and other necessary utilities and services.

The City of Cadillac is a leader when it comes to facilitating the location of new industrial prospects. We have streamlined the land acquisition process, established solid relationships with various state agencies to gain prompt access to financial incentive programs and permitting requirements, and have teamed with a non-profit agency known as the Cadillac Industrial Fund, composed of area industrial business leaders, to knowledgably address the various questions associated with an industrial location process.   We recognize the value of such businesses to our community and work hard not only to recruit them, but to retain them as well through open communication and prompt provision of public service, long after the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Our proactive approach, coupled with our beautiful northern Michigan quality of life and vibrant, growing community are the perfect combination for businesses looking for a top-quality location.   We invite you to check Cadillac out for yourself, visit with our existing industrial leaders and discover first hand all that we have to offer.   Furthermore, we are also available to meet with you at any time to discuss the specifics of a move to Cadillac.   Feel free to contact City Manager Peter Stalker at (231) 775-0181, ext. 119, or at citymanager@cadillac-mi.net to schedule a meeting.   We look forward to learning about your business and satisfying its needs here in Cadillac.

Sincerely,
