The City of Cadillac has issued a Limited Run Water Notice.

The City of Cadillac has issued a limited run water notice.

Late last week the Utilities Department sent notices to certain properties throughout the City requesting that a water flow rate of 1-gallon per 15-minutes be allowed to run continuously at one faucet location in the property.

The water flow stream should equal the approximate size of a small pencil lead. Please measure the flow to ensure an adequate amount of water is being used in order to prevent your pipes from freezing. The stream must run continuously until further notice. Even if the outside temperature rises above freezing, the frost that has already been driven into the ground will still be there until spring. If the water stops flowing, there is a heightened risk your private service line will freeze.

A Stop Run Water Notice from the City will be mailed out when it is appropriate and safe for you to shut off your water.
