The City of Cadillac
has completed the preparation of its latest five-year Capital
Improvement Program. The program covers the five fiscal
years beginning July 1, 2005 and ending June 30, 2010. This
critical planning document serves as the "engine that
will drive operating budgets in the coming years" according
to Dale Walker, the City's Director of Finance. This type
of future planning has been a key component of the City
of Cadillac's ability to maintain fiscal stability through
the last years of economic instability and is another example
of the City's commitment to fiscal responsibility. Please
email the
Finance Department if you have any questions regarding this
document.
The Capital Improvement
Program is available on-line in PDF format using Adobe Acrobat

This document
plans for over $8.6 million of spending over the next five
years. Historically, over 90% of planned projects are completed
in any given year. Over 37% of the spending is earmarked
for street replacement and repair, including the underlying
water and sewer infrastructure. Nearly 13% of the planned
spending will be committed to the municipal water system.
The Phase II expansion of the James E. Potvin Industrial
Park ($800,000) is scheduled to take place in Year 3 with
70% of the expenditure being paid for with grant dollars.
Continued infusion of grant money to the City of Cadillac
is critical to the completion of many projects. The City
has been very successful in securing grant dollars and is
confident of continued success in the future.
Thank you for
your interest in this increasingly important aspect of the
operations of the City of Cadillac.
